I’m finalizing my new mint 14 setup and I ran into a strange issue with the mscorefonts package. I’ve never had a problem with this package before however I was unable to install the fonts using this package or the package would say it was completed but there were fonts missing.

I use the Adwaita classic theme in cinnamon and for some reason some of the gnome applications use a dark variant of this theme such as the eye of gnome (image viewer) and video player.

I use Cacti to monitor my servers and recently had some trouble getting the percona graphs to work with memcached and redis on a remote debian server. The graphs were always blank. I’m going to provide a few fixes to ss_get_by_ssh.php in this post that I used to make it work.

I’m currently developing a large project using symfony2 and doctrine which makes heavy use of Doctrine’s CacheProvider cache classes. I’ve been looking around for an easy way of invalidating the result cache when those objects are updated in the database.
