Pomodoro Applet for Cinnamon

Update: The applet is now only supported for cinnamon 1.8.x and 2.0.x (https://github.com/gfreeau/cinnamon-pomodoro). The old version is available here: https://github.com/gfreeau/cinnamon-pomodoro/tree/1.6

I’ve written a cinnamon applet for doing a pomodoro, it’s based off of an old version of https://github.com/codito/gnome-shell-pomodoro and works in cinnamon 1.6.x.

I converted an old version as the newer versions use some code that is not available in cinnamon. When I have more time I’d like to see if I can backport any important features from the newer releases.

The code is here: https://github.com/gfreeau/cinnamon-pomodoro. I was able to reuse most of the code, this code now uses cinnamon’s applet code instead of being an extension.

Just unzip the [email protected] directory into ~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets.

Great work. Very good integration with the Cinammon pannel. I like the addition of the pomodorii counter, which I reckon is not present in the GNOME extension version.

A big thumbs up for porting this useful extension to Cinnamon, Greg.

Works fine (even with Cinnamon 1.8.8 on my side), thanks for providing this applet, just what i was needing.

Thanks for this!  My only criticisms of it are that when you stop the timer, the timer should reset as you’re not supposed to be able to pause a pomodoro, and also it looks like you are counting the pomodoros as 4 pomodoros = 1 pomodoro.  Are there any plans to change this functionality in future releases?

Good day and Happy New Year!

Great job. I use your timer every day it very helpful. But I have some trouble, i can’t use sound alert when break is over. Can I fix it by myself?
